Design like a Billionaire: This year’s most coveted interior design trends

Interior Design Trends

HEY READERS!

Wondering how to give your home a billionaire touch or if you simply want to change things up, I think you might have just found the right spot of the internet. But first, I have a few questions for you.

What do u think screams billionaire?

What is the actual essence of having a space that is whole in itself?

If you’ve ever had a chance to go to a billionaire’s home or if you own one. What are the factors in it that translate to wealth  but in a silent way?

Let’s ponder on some of these while I bring along some fun facts along the way

Money speaks, wealth whispers

I’m sure you’re familiar with the quote.

People with wealth don’t usually speak of it. It’s a known fact. But instead, they give out quiet statements that are enough; whether it’s in the way they dress or the way their house- I mean mansions are.

You know since the rise of old money aesthetics; many people try to duplicate it when in fact it is not just something that can be done as a copy. Same goes for Billionaire homes, copying it won’t give you the essence or the thought put into it.

And that’s what we’re here to understand, Interiors in billionaire homes aren’t just decoration, they tell stories and make statements that deserve to be known.

How about we look at some Luxury Interior Design Trends to analyze our homes:

Specialized micro-luxury zones:

Think of a space dedicated to adding a luxurious ambience to high end things. It may be a dedicated space to a fancy wine tasting that offers a sophisticated view of the wine bottles along with an indulgent space to savor the true flavor of the wine. Or maybe it’s a dedicated space to Reading in comfort like a mini library that provides a safe sanctuary to imagination by showcasing a wide variety of books and a niche of technology that adds an efficient modern touch to it.

It may also be a dedicated space to exploring your hobbies, like a studio room that homes all your favorite instruments, decked with some of the most immersive technology, to provide an effortless space to practice your music. It could even be a high-end VR gaming zone that provides a dynamic gaming experience with Dolby Atmos sound systems, motion-tracking technology and ergonomic settings for an engaging experience for the player.

Other ideas could be Private home cinemas that offer the all-round qualities of a cinematic experience, Specialized spa in your bathrooms that elevate the experience of taking care of yourself or it could also be a specialized outdoor gaming facility that provides an outdoor experience in the comfort of your home.

Sustainable décor:

As all of us are becoming more aware of the harm done to nature due to our lack of planning. Billionaires are taking the initiative to make a change in the present by giving local artisans and local traditions and local materials to take a luxurious place in their homes in the form of décor. Whether that may be in the form of mycelium-based composites (fungi driven materials) that offer lightweight yet durable pieces that are biodegradable. Or it may be the reclamation of locally sourced wood or sustainable methods of getting leather or other luxury items that are rather unsustainable.

This allows luxury with a sense of accountability towards the environment that craters to a balanced environment. And let’s not forget the inclusion of rare plant species being a part of the luxury tone set by the house, as it adds a sense of exclusivity while allowing us to be a part of nature.

Geo- Influence Interior:

Like the previous one, this offers artisans and locally source materials to add a unique touch to the interior of the house while adding to its functionality and giving a clear indication of its geological location. Whether that maybe be done by having locally sourced exotic stones as a center piece or ceramic murals and traditional carvings being the reason for awe by the guest at your place. It could also include the themes that local houses follow as they add to the efficiency of the place.

It could also include taking inspiration from Japan, Japanese, Mediterranean, or Scandinavian architecture or local culture to allow your home to feel more native while keeping it luxurious.

Zestful Lighting:

Ever walked into a place and found it to be too bright or too dull. One of the reasons could be the lighting of the place; and of course we can’t have that in a billionaire’s home. Hence, a dynamic ecosystem that provides lighting to the whole place was introduced. This allows the interior to be shown in a certain perspective while adding for more purpose to lighting of a home.

It happens due to circadian rhythm technology, that adjusts light temperatures throughout the day and activates soothing hues in the evening for better sleep cycles. It also allows for real time motion sensing technology to provide light when required along with adding an essence of perspective in the form of controlling light for your art pieces and your home in general, allowing you to make it like a mini art gallery.

Sensorial dynamic:

Allowing pieces to be quiet at sight but loud in touch. The feeling of touching extra soft cushions that look way to cosy to be true or ultra-smooth marble counter tops that you can’t stop your hands from gliding on or fabrics that create a sensory overload, in a good way of course. It may also include technology induced heating tiles, furniture that allows functionality as soon as it senses your presence.

Soundproof doors, noiseless drawer mechanisms, and soft-touch switches, subtle fragrances and calming ambient sounds like white noise systems can be played in the background. These create a deep sensory response that is craved.

Liquid Architecture:

This creates a sense of flawless composition to the interior giving it wave-like designs and free hand concepts made with materials like resin, carved stones or other materials. They are the curvy element of the place that give it an essence of freedom and continuity and most importantly humanness. They create the harmonies that we desire with soft textures or even bold patterns that not only are eye-captivating but also showcases the liberty of thought and ideas of the homeowner and the artisans.

For an innovative look they are often made with transparent materials or thermoplastic materials, giving it a high-end finish and providing a seamless interior.

Bespoke Architecture:

This is one of the main reasons why billionaire homes don’t scream luxury in your face but rather create a sustainable composition of interior that whispers wealth. From custom-made furniture to fit the aesthetic of the house to adding unique items to the pieces to give it a luxury touch, each and everything is a part of this concept.

This allows the luxury items to seamlessly be a part of the home without overpowering or taking away from the billionaire’s idea of a home that brings comfort. It curates a wide variety of stones, valuable metals, locally sources items to provide to the unique aesthetic of the home. Overall, it brings together all the elements of the house in harmony while still being extremely luxurious.

Lastly, I would like to add that a billionaire’s home creates a beautiful carefully embroidered sense if comfort that is well thought out and enacted. It allows many people to be a part of something truly historic. Hope you had some great takeaways after reading this.

Until next time, Signing off for now.
