Bali’s Billionaire Villas: Inside Indonesia’s Most Exclusive Retreats

Bali luxury villas

Nestled between lush forests, pristine turquoise oceans, and sacred volcanoes, Indonesia’s world-famous vacation hotspot, Bali, offers more than just luxury. It’s a doorway to jaw-dropping sanctuaries, an escape into another realm. This is your personal guide to Bali’s luxury villa

Bulgari Resort Bali

Can a resort get any more exclusive and luxurious than this? Set on top of Uluwatu’s 160m high cliffs, overlooking the Indian Ocean, is the Bulgari Resort in Bali.  It’s one of the most expensive hotels in the country—and among the priciest in Asia, set for the top 1% – a rare gem of a place, redefining Bali’s Luxury Villas.

The hotel offers 59 private villas and huge residences with waterfall swimming pools and mini spas, along with a private gym, and everyone gets a view of the Indian Ocean. Despite its Italian roots, the hotel design feels distinctly Balinese.

The interiors feature prints of local village life in black and white, along with ikat fabrics woven with silver and gold threads. The bathrooms also have Bulgari amenities, although in small, sad-looking bottles.

One of the perks included is the in-villa breakfast, available 24 hours a day, offering over 6-7 different cuisines, including local Balinese. To add on, the sunsets at this hotel are sensational. The helicopter tour is the hotel’s most booked activity, as it is also a way to beat the traffic while enjoying lush views – but that is not all – the hotel also includes the Bulgari Spa where treatments are delivered by highly experienced therapists, along with complimentary daily activities which include- unlimited yoga, a Balinese purifying ceremony, walking tours and ‘Little Gems’ kids’ club.

Alila Villas Uluwatu

One of the most drop-dead gorgeous luxury villas in Bali—Alila Villas Uluwatu. It mixes sensational views with modern architecture. The resort boasts wonderful pools, an ocean view, and gorgeous design. One of the most amazing aspects is the birdcage-like boxes, housing restaurants and bars that give the place a traditional look. The hotel consists of all very large open-spaced villas, with private pools and a luxurious outdoor shower as well as a cabana and lots of privacy.

The restaurant offers breakfast in the morning and a mix of asian and Western cuisine in the evenings,  even a complimentary welcome palate of rice crackers and different sambals, which, in Indonesian cuisine, is a type of essential dipping sauce. The bar offers a beehive of activities in the evening for reasons I am sure are self-explanatory.

The resort also consists of a beautiful library, a luxurious gym, and a world-class spa. There is a rock temple really close, the Pura Luhur Rock Temple, which is a worthy visit. The resort is well known for destination luxury weddings because of its sunset wedding pavilion set on high cliffs. It is one of the most famous Bali’s Luxury Villas

Karma Kandara

You cannot skip this on the list of  Bali’s Luxury Villas, a luxury 5-star  resort, on top of Ungasan cliffs, located in an exclusive area known as the ‘Billionaire’s Row.’ Karma Kandara has seamlessly blended traditional Balinese architecture with modern luxury amenities to create a series of villas that are formed from pavilions and have their own tropical courtyard along with a personal pool.

Their latest addition is the Mentari Residences, which are 33 beautifully crafted apartments, overlooking lush gardens with spa-like rooms, open plan design, and premium amenities.

While staying, you have exclusive and direct access to the Karma beach, with pristine waters, live music events, and watersports. Dine at the Di Mare, Cuc, and Sardine–some of the top restaurants picked by the resort for you, they offer fresh seafood, some of the best Mediterranean cuisine, and cocktails, to go with stunning panoramic ocean views. The Karma spa is an award-winning spa that features an open-air massage bale with an infrared Sauna and Soaking Pool.

Private Jet Villa

You know that feeling when you are just so bored of the normal luxury, well, let me introduce you to luxury on the next level, the Private Jet Villa—one of a kind among Bali’s luxury villas. Or should we say, luxury planes? Perched on the cliff tops of Nyang Nyang beach is the luxuriously converted Private jet villa.

The jet suite has a spectacular cockpit jacuzzi, the first class suite has a marble bath and a smart home system with surround sound. There is even an infinity pool and sun loungers to enjoy spectacular sunset views, as well as an open fireplace, a minibar, a reading space, and a hot tub.

You will be spoiled with butler and private chef services, along with a good cup of espresso in the mornings, with beans brought from the farm of their own staff member, in-villa private massage and spa treatment. And to top it all off, you’ll arrive in a luxurious limousine or a helicopter, so just relax and let your vacation take flight (pun intended) at Bali’s Luxury Villas.

Kasianda Villas

A luxury private estate, located in vibrant Berawa, Canggu’s most exclusive neighbourhood, is one of Bali’s best Luxury Villas. There are two different accommodations on this private property, the Kasianda Villa and Kasianda House. Although located in the extremely popular area of Berawa, the property is perfectly serene and quiet.

Kasianda House, a spacious 1000-square-meter residence, features 7 bedrooms, child child-friendly salt water pool, a swim-up bar and BBQ pit as well as an open plan kitchen and terrace with Bluetooth speakers in the ceilings. The Kasianda Villa, the epitome of chic, offers a private pool, modern kitchen, and even a media room with Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, as well as an outdoor barbeque area.

As I said before, it is located in Berawa, one of the popular areas; therefore, there are clubs, bars, cafes, activities, and beaches just a few minutes away. They also focus on major events like milestone birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, catering, and entertainment.

Uluwatu is Bali’s perfect luxury hideaway, holding the most exclusive private estates, some of which are only known to the world of the wealthy. Welcome to Bali’s Luxury Villas –  where infinity pools spill into the horizon and staff outnumber the guests, it’s luxury redefined.

With panoramic ocean views and jungle sanctuaries with a private helipad, these private villas are not just vacation homes, they are a status symbol rented by global wealthy figures, for something money does buy – ‘paradise.’
