Here’s the Inside Scoop: What Really Happened at Comic-Con 2025 (From Start to Finish)

Comic-Con 2025 highlights

Comic-Con 2025 was not only hype-worthy. It was epic. From surprise celebrity appearances, jaw-dropping announcements, or immediately viral fan experiences, this year’s was truly like no other. San Diego was its world, full of superheroes, stormtroopers, anime characters, and pure magic of fandom.

Day One: Fandom Overload, in the Best Way

As ever, Day One crackled with energy. Thousands of fans spent their hours in meticulously crafted costumes (heck, someone constructed a life-sized Gundam suit!) waiting for the doors to open. Inside, the floor-level excitement courtesy of vendors, artists, and plenty of merchandise.

The excitement, however, was taking place in Hall H. Marvel lit the stage on fire, revealing the full Phase 7 roster- yes, including that reported crossover movie we weren’t certain existed (spoiler: it does, and it’s coming in 2027). Chris Hemsworth stopped by as a surprise, with hammer in hand, and we’re not sure the crowd ever recovered.

Also worth noting in the Comic-Con 2025 highlights—DC didn’t show up unprepared either. The Batman: Shadows of Gotham first teaser was outed, and Robert Pattinson’s new costume is darker and grimier, and yes, the Batmobile is electric now.

Day Two: The Surprise Stars

Day Two was nostalgia all the way, and it worked. Millennials were crying while there was a 20-year reunion panel for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with the cast recounting the story behind the scenes, along with reading some early 2000s fan fiction.

Daniel Radcliffe reading Draco/Harry fic? Yep, that happened. The following was what most people are calling one of the biggest Comic-Con 2025 highlights- the Stranger Things cast sneaking around the convention centre in disguise before taking over the Netflix booth.

Fans were left shook when they realized they’d just taken selfies with Eleven and Hopper wearing fake moustaches. Later that evening, the cosplay contest lit up the stage. A duo dressed as Geralt and Yennefer performed an actual sword fight. Judges called it “Broadway-level.” I’d call it “can’t-believe-I-got-that-on-video” good.

Day Three: Gaming, Anime, and a Touch of Chaos

Gamers had their moment at last on Day Three. The PlayStation press conference made public The Last of Us: Chapter III, and the hall was not dry-eyed as the teaser went by.

Trust me, you will want to mentally prepare yourself. Anime fans got to view the special screenings for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 and the long-awaited Attack on Titan: Rebirth all before they aired.

FUNimation even had life-size standees for the fans that made them talk, somehow. Okay, kind of creepy, and kind of awesome at the same time. Probably one of the most bizarre, but adorable things to come out of Comic-Con 2025 was a spontaneous dance-off between the food trucks.

A Loki impersonator, a Mario impersonator, and an Ailor Moon cosplayer put on their dance-off to Uptown Funk. The crowd shouted Sailor Moon, the winner. Democracy in action.

Day Four: Closing Time and Big Reveals

By Day Four, all were exhausted but still abuzz. The last few panels were even quieter! Smaller creators now had their time in the sun. There were tearful farewells, fan meet and greets, and at least a million last signatures. But wait, just when you thought it was over, Disney dropped the bomb: live-action Gargoyles remake.

Yup. For real. And Keith David is coming back. You could almost hear the Internet explode. The closing ceremony finished with fireworks timed to some of our favourite movie soundtracks. Lightsaber colors painted the sky. Strangers embraced. Some cried.

It wasn’t the big trailer reveals, and it wasn’t the surprise guests (and to believe me, those were all great too), but I felt surrounded by other people who love stories. It was the creativity, the insanity, the family. If you have never been to Comic-Con, make plans to do so in 2026.

And if you did attend, you already know. See you in the next multiverse.
