Luxury travel mistakes that you should never make

Luxury travel

Imagine you are on a heavenly beach in the Maldives, reading your favourite book, sipping a Pina Colada. Now, imagine you have finally booked that dreamy luxury getaway, five-star suits, your outfits are ready, and your bags are packed. Sounds perfect, right? But hold on.

Even the smoothest trips can go on a bumpy road if you make these mistakes. Everyone deserves a chill trip to escape from the hustle and bustle of their hectic life. But it is important to keep a few things in mind while planning it, so that you leave the place with the best memories and the calmest mind.

No worries buddy, I have your back. Here is a whole list of luxury travel mistakes that you can avoid making.

Not hiring a travel agent:

Having an experienced travel agent is like reducing half the burden from your back. Travel agents help you with the slightest details of the trip, like where to go, what to do, where to stay and what not. And in case of any difficulty, like flight cancellation, you can be tension-free as travel agents will look after every change.

Travel agents are like the drivers who turn your car from the bumpy roads. You might be thinking that travel agents cost more, and that is a myth. It usually costs less than if you do it by yourself. It might cost you the same amount for more and better experiences. Luxury travel stresses more on comfort than spending, and travel agents handle it like a pro.

Choosing trending over tantalising:

I know those catchy advertisements or attractive posters about a place make you feel like visiting it. Some people love to be on trend. But, is it necessary to go to a place that is currently in the news or hyped by the media? No, not. Just ask yourself, ‘Is the place worth the hype?’

There is a chance that your expectations might not match reality. Travel is about having an experience. So, better have a nice one. Instead of sticking to the trend, choose a place that genuinely interests and excites you.

Surely there are some places like Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Italy, that are on the trend list not because they are trendy, but because they have real reasons to go. In short, choose a place that has been timeless and has actual reasons to visit or choose a place that might not be trendy but still interests you. Put enough time and effort into planning your trip and choosing the place.

Not getting a specialist:

When doing any kind of activities like skiing, safari, surfing, hiking or any kind of adventure, you must hire a specialist. Without a specialist, you will have zero knowledge about the dangers of the activity, the skills required for the same, and other necessities. Hence, you might not get a great experience from it and will not get to learn anything.

For exploring new stuff, it is important to hire someone who knows the topic. Otherwise, it is of no use. A specialist will provide you with help and comfort while pursuing the activity and will make sure that you won’t face any hardships. It is better and safer to try new things under an experienced person’s supervision.

Staying loyal to one brand:

Like many travel enthusiasts, you might also have a favourite brand. We tend to stick to the same brand as we are comfortable with it, without looking for other options. There are places where you have more fun living locally. Certain factors might change from place to place.

And so, we should look for other options as well, instead of depending on one. In luxury travelling, we can spend generously and at the same time explore more and more. Sticking to one particular brand without proper research fails to do justice to the same.

Bringing more luggage:

I am aware that chic outfits are a must. But make sure you don’t pack too much. More luggage makes it difficult for you to handle. Pack outfits that are mix and match. Also, carrying all your wealth with you isn’t a great option. You are travelling to an alien place, so you are not familiar with the dangers lurking around in the place.

Make sure you blend with the locals. Research a little about the dress code and the kind of clothing the locals prefer, as many places follow a certain dress code. Carry outfits that are stylish and at the same time you are comfortable in and find easy to blend in with the vibe.

Luxury is when you make the best memories. But certain mistakes like not hiring a travel agent and a specialist, going with the trend, staying loyal to one brand and bringing more luggage can stop us from enjoying the so-called perfect trip we expected.

Take your time and plan the trip in the best way you can. Remember, luxury travel focuses more on comfort than money. Planning and spending hastily now can be a problem during the vacation. Everyone deserves a change.

Avoid certain mistakes so that you can make this break a fun, learning, peaceful and comfortable experience. Plan the trip in a way that you leave with a calm mind and a happy soul. Have an awesome adventure. Bon Voyage!
